PATIOS

Our complete patio transformation services go beyond the surface. We believe a stunning outdoor space starts with what you don’t see, meticulous excavation, stabilized base prep, and precision-laid masonry that holds up for years.

    • Utility Markings: Ensuring no gas, water, or electric lines are in the dig zone.

    • Clearance: Removing existing grass, old concrete, or debris.

    • Deep Dig: Excavating 8–10 inches deep. This allows for the structural layers (gravel and sand) so the patio sits flush with the ground and doesn't "float" too high.

    • Geotextile Fabric: A professional-grade fabric laid over the raw soil to prevent the dirt from mixing with your gravel, which stops the patio from sinking over time.

    • Compacted Aggregate: 4–6 inches of crushed stone, compacted in "lifts" (layers) using a heavy-duty plate compactor.This creates a rock-solid foundation that handles the freeze-thaw cycles of the NJ/NY climate.

    • Grading for Drainage: Sloping the base slightly (usually 1/4 inch per foot) away from your home's foundation to prevent basement flooding or pooling water.

    • Screeded Sand Bed: A 1-inch layer of coarse sand, leveled perfectly to act as a "cushion" for the pavers.

    • Paver Laying: Hand-placing your chosen material (Bluestone, concrete pavers, or brick) in your selected pattern (Herringbone, Running Bond, etc.).

    • Custom Cutting: Using masonry saws to trim pavers for curves, borders, or to fit around obstacles like pillars or fire pits.

    • Edge Restraints: Installing heavy-duty plastic or metal edging spiked into the ground to lock the pavers in place and prevent "creeping" (spreading outward).

    • Polymeric Sand: Sweeping a specialized sand into the joints that hardens when misted with water. This "locks" the stones together and blocks weeds and ants from moving in.

    • Final Compaction: Running a compactor over the finished pavers to set them firmly into the sand bed.

    • Cleanup & Sealing (Optional): Removing all construction debris and applying a sealant to enhance the color and protect against oil or food stains.
